What is your role at OSC?

Clinical Supervisor, I oversee the chemo RN's & MA's (medical assistants)

What is your Educational Background?

Nursing School in Illinois Parkland College after high school. I have been an RN for 27 years. I have been a nurse with OSC for 10 years. I recently obtained my OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification after completing the course in Charlotte. But the test to pass and become certified was canceled in Charlotte due to Covid-19 restrictions. I then traveled to Virginia in June and took the test; and of course passed.

How were you introduced to OSC?

After my work as a phlebotomy nurse with American Red Cross, I worked for an oral surgeon in Charlotte for many years. When the doctor announced he was retiring and closing his practice, I found myself soon to be out of work. I walked over to OSC's office, as they were in the adjacent medical building and gave my resume to the front desk associate. They called me and the rest is history.

What do you do outside of OSC (Activities/Hobbies)?

Being a mom to my 2 daughters (ages 20 & 23), going to football games to watch my daughters cheer; they have been competitive cheerleaders; daughter Taylor is a 2013 world champ, she was on ESPN2, competed, team won. I also like the beach, poolside, being outdoors and I'm a dog lover. You will see my big boy, Cooper, in the photo, I love spending time with my family. I am an identical twin.

What is so special about OSC?

Connections to patients and their families. We are like one big happy family of our team members and our patients and their families. We treat you like family always. We carry you throughout your journey with our entire team here.

If you could say one thing to someone new coming to OSC for treatment, what would it be?

You are in exceptional hands here b/c the team is here for you and we are very on board with your care and will guide you through your journey.

What’s in your Netflix queue?

I watch almost all documentaries and docu-series. I really enjoyed the series "In Search of God"Your answer

What is your favorite quote?

Footprints in the Sand, a very comforting poem.

If you could have one Super Power, what would it be?

The power to "Heal". I wish I could heal my dad. He had a fall last fall from a stroke and has since suffered with balance and memory issues. It is sad to see your parents health and lifestyle deteriorate.
